Gary Petersen's connection with the camera began long before he ever picked one up. As a child model in the 80s, he appeared on toy boxes and in print, sparking a lifelong fascination with how images shape emotion and memory. Growing up on MTV and immersed in art and pop culture, he developed a keen visual sense, which was further fueled by a high school photography class and later refined at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Gary is drawn to the process of arranging light, color, and form to translate mood and story into each image. His work blends precision with feeling, nostalgia with contemporary influence, reflecting a lifelong journey through the power and beauty of visual storytelling.
Gary is based in NYC.
