Born and raised a few hours outside of London, Callum Inskip, was originally planning to study Graphic Design but was placed in a Photography class by mistake. This twist of fate later developed into him moving to London to study Photography at the London College of Fashion. During his university studies he discovered that his grandfather was an avid photographer in the late 60’s and had a huge archive of amazing images which helped cement Callum's interest in the medium. This newfound family thread, through time, led to Callum centering his graduate project around mixing their imagery to create a universal visual language of both eras.
Callum shoots a mix of film and digital. Working in the darkroom on his personal and editorial film projects has allowed him to develop the principal characteristics of his imagery. His work is best defined by his use of natural lighting, composition and color. There is a gentle softness throughout that brings a sense of calm and depth to each image regardless of the subject. With an emphasis on making his subjects feel comfortable, Callum captures moments that feel both effortless and evocative, balancing gentle tones with rich contrasts to create images that feel natural yet refined.
Callum is based between NYC and London
